I played pretty much my youth team for 2 seasons in the fast ticker, none of them really improved, we got relegated then finished bottom of the league and I was fired. Seems almost impossible to improve youths to a playable level, even if given first team experience for 2 seasons. There didn’t seem to be any correlation I could see between playing first team football and not playing first team football.
The game seems to have evolved into home results being fairly predictable, with the odd unexpected result. While away matches even against what should be fairly easy opposition can prove to be more difficult than they should be.
In the fast ticker I played at home v Reading who at that point had not lost a game (and have won the title for many years in a row – FAST TICKER). I win 1-0 which was a bit of a surprise, but not a crazy result. I then play Swansea away a CPU team next game with the exact same team and lose 5-0. This result is not an impossibility, nothing is in football, it just seems a little – random – possibly not the right word, but possibly strange, unexpected, or a word to that effect.
Is it just me that has this opinion?
Please can we have the points to the right of GA.
Really not a fan of points as the first column, it just looks wrong and is somewhat odd.
FFS, again exactly the same issue, a season or two later, this time I won the group and they came second and we play each other in the next round, any chance of fixing this?
In fast ticker finished 2nd to Real Madrid in the group stage, now playing them in the next round.

Sergio Herrero Rating for game 0.5
100% pass accuracy, set up a goal as a defender, but didn’t have to make a tackle all game as the opponents were so poor, but 0/0 is 100% tackle efficiency right? How does he get such a bad rating? This doesn’t make any sense.
Another friendly http://rubysoccer.com/game/match_report/5484230
A defender gets 0.0 rating yet sets up a goal.
Are the settings too sensitive?
In another friendly http://rubysoccer.com/game/match_report/5484227 I had an outfield player get a 0.0 rating yet he made 100% of his passes. He didn’t play very well, but a 0.0 rating seems too harsh.
I played a friendly in the fast ticker http://rubysoccer.com/game/match_report/5484226 I won the game 9-0 and their GK got a 0.0 rating. He made some saves, I don’t see how his rating can be this low, granted he may not have had the best of games but to get a 0.0 rating surely he wouldn’t have made any saves?
My GK has lost the plot and is quite often getting performances below 3 in games.
Is there any way to improve a players form? If not, is this something that could be added to the game in some way, even if it means introducing manual training into the game?
Excellent, I forward to this.
Yes this is great, speed 4 was about perfect for what I was looking for.
My only criticism would be that you can see when someone shoots and the keeper saves it, but when someone scores you can’t actually see the goal. Player has the ball and then next thing it’s a kick off, even if you watch it at the slowest speed. It would be nice if you could actually see the ball going into the net, otherwise every time there is a shot that you can see, you know that it won’t be a goal as when you can see the ball go on target it’s a save at present. Other than that, great work.
Is it possible to slow down the replays? Even the slowest or normal speed is too quick for my personal preference. Could there be a slider bar so that managers can choose the speed at which they watch the replay?
I didn’t vote in the latest poll as I personally don’t see the point in CPU teams buying players from human teams until money is returned to the game, rather than investment points. I don’t quite understand how to vote unless I know that money is, or isn’t being returned to the game as it used to be, rather than how it is currently implemented.
Not sure this is necessarily a bug, however, when managing an international side, you are unable to reallocate a player’s position. For example if they are a MAC for their club side that is how they are for the international side. When you click on the player, as an international manager you are not able to make them a AMC e.g. reverse their position.
I don’t know whether players get punished for playing out of position, despite the fact that technically it is a potential position that they can play at international level. Maybe something to have a think about?
I might have applied for another international job. I’m not too worried about the sacking, I’d rather point out bugs so they can be fixed.
If I get the job back I won’t complain, but if I don’t I won’t lose any sleep, just thought I should point out the failure in logic in this particular instance.
Fast Ticket Turn 124 I took over the management of the Netherlands, turn 125 I get sacked from the job for being knocked out of the World Cup, this can’t be right, surely?
“Going away to San siro, camp nou etc is when players are really tested!”
On one hand I agree, yet on the other I think that when teams go to these big grounds against the big teams they are not expected to get a result, so the pressure is sort of off the players. But it’s all subjective I guess, like everything in life.
Is there not more pressure playing at home in front of a large amount of dedicated fans screaming for the win, rather than playing away from home in a potentially smaller stadium with much fewer fans baying for your blood if you don’t perform? Is this not slightly backwards in implementation, or am I just being picky?
As Joseppi said “I can’t win away from home” I also sort of find this, especially against CPU teams. Not sure 100% why this is, whether it’s because I suck, or whether it has something to do with CPU teams not being affected by morale?
I would suggest that since morale was introduced the game has become harder, which is possibly why people have left, the majority don’t want something that is hard to play, they want the easy option. If you look at how computer games are made now, they are made so that on the 3rd attempt you can complete the section, things have been dumbed down to suit the laziness of the masses.
Personally I think the game is improving, maybe too slowly for some people’s liking, but that is how software development works. There is also the revival of managersim which may be playing a part in it. Some managers who have left here are active there.
I think it’s hard to pin down exactly what makes people stop doing things and even harder to ask them once they’ve left.
Personally, I would like to see more financial control introduced to the game, I’m not a fan of the season investment thing. There was a time when you could sell players for silly money, as it stands now there is very little financial reason to do such a thing. I don’t remember the last time I actually bought a player in the game, I just sign players on free transfers. This doesn’t replicate the football world at all. It’s all about buying and selling players these days, which seems to be something severeley lacking in this game.
Ok I worked it out. He has retired so he doesn’t show up on old match reports, does seem odd though…
http://rubysoccer.com/game/match_report/5325315 Fast ticker, I look at the match report and only have 10 players, NO GK, what happened? I see the opposition has 10 players and a gk that I can see, but my report shows no GK for me.
Why are GK’s excluded from morale? They seem to be the only people I can keep happy, maybe I should get 11 of them!
Happened again in my next CL game.

This only really seems to happen in the Champions League. It just seems a little odd when you win a game 2-1 but none of your outfield players get a rating over 5.
http://rubysoccer.com/game/match_report/5282238
I picked the wrong team, but still, what is going on with player ratings here?
http://rubysoccer.com/game/match_report/5262528
Is this a bug? Seems kind of odd.
Ok, that is fair enough, I haven’t managed the squad well at all. But on a positive side, I’ve not lost the plot and it’s not spite that is causing it. Guess I’ll have a clear out!
I’m confused why my players morale in the fast ticker is so horrible. I have played pretty much the same team (if possible) all season, yet everyone, even players that have played every available game seem to hate me! Is it just a personal thing? :)
I don’t want to be the person that is always complaining, but I’m still not convinced about the implementation of morale at present.
I am currently having to sell 3 of my 20 year old players, who according to my scouts will be brilliant players. I have to sell them though as they are currently not good enough to play and so have developed critical morale. So therefore they won’t re-sign a contract. This is not a bug, this is how morale has been implemented, they don’t get game time, so they’re not happy, fair enough.
My question is, how can a manager keep a player like this? Essentially I am hurting my team’s prospect in the long run, to maintain the relative success that the club is currently achieving. I’m not asking for a morale reset or anything like that, but I am wondering if morale can be implemented in a slightly different way. For example morale levels dependent on player age. So young players are affected a lot less by not playing, whereas older players would be affected more, due to their careers coming to an end and so wanting to make the most of the playing time they have left. Then maybe a morale level for 25-30 year olds or similar. I think what I’m asking for is tiered morale levels dependent on player age.
At present it seems to me to be virtually impossible to keep all players happy and win games and be successful. I could be wrong, I have been before and will be again, but feel I should air my views. I would also be interested to see what others think, both managers and developers.
