AZ sells his top keeper (98 keeping) for only 1M. Well, he’s 36, so he might retire next season, or maybe the season after, that’s why you can get him for a cheap price.

yeah Filipe, please accept the fact your old team will be destroyed. It happend to all us ex france managers :)
And what about Turkey ? ;o)
I agree with filipe, i did not join spain to dominate the entire world… whats the point of a good challenge if everyone comes to spain lol!
i wanted to start fresh, was with auxerre for 35 seasons… it was time…
filipe, one thing i’ve come to the conclusion, the incoming manager will probably destroy your team :P
@filipe: what best managers in england? :). There is only 2, and I doubt cardiff will join spain. He finally has a real team again :)
http://www.rubysoccer.com/game/team_players/166 having a sale
yep, i didnt plan for this change and it’s caught me off guard. typical amateur ;)
i’ve tried selling players over 50% cheaper that would be ok in lower leagues, in real life. They are not going … :) Rich clubs will be able to adapt but those that scrape along taking on youth, to sell on will not. Small squad clubs will also survive but there will be less scope to develop players or take on players that may have potential. I can understand why things change but it’s still not true to life and reduces the way the game can be played. Less enjoyable in my eyes but i wouldnt expect a change back because i’m no long enjoying the game. :)
Thanks for the advice though. I prefer a break so will let the funds go to 0 :)
Actually Holland might be tougher than England or Spain right now. But maybe I should make a seperate posting about that.
I think we all will need to sell players cheaper, eventually that will feel like the fair price, in economics it is called deflation (general price lowering). Players will be cheaper but they will be cheaper for everyone so we just need to adapt. It may also drop teams quality in the future but again it will be that way for all teams.
You’ll be in EPL next season so it will be easier for players to improve, as Vaughn said lowering your coach level would save you some money.
Sly I considered that too, but I dont think it would be good for the game, I think some of the best managers in England would follow me and than there would be no challenge for Spain to dominate… This way we keep things balanced, I think the fight will be between England and Spain but France for sure wont let it be that easy so the competition in Europe promises to be intense
Sales continue at Cardiff City. Prices always negotiable!!!

The rest of us in England pray that the new manager at United can be half as good as Filipe and keep some consistency. The new manager should realize that with latest French exodus to Spain, England has a golden opportunity to claim the number 1 spot, and therefore enjoy the best youth pool in this world.
Congrats Filipe.
I can only speak well of Filipe, being an outstanding manager and great person, always willing to talk about anything in the game. Great Manager, great Person.
Looking forward to compete against you in Div1 :)

To be honoust, Spain is the place to be if you want to have a real challange in the league. Most of the “known good managers” went there :). They are all still building aswell, so you can all be “ready” at about the same time.
You can always set your coaching to 9, it will get you some mills.
Or sell a player cheaper then you actually want (if you want to survive).
Too bad, Steve. I guess it’s way of management really. First and most important thing is to check the money if the economy works, if it does not, then not much is of any use. Work the economy first then everything else.

update via twitter. “last 7 turns CPU teams bought 31 players, 4 from human-managed team”. yes, just 4! I’m going bankrupt on both games now :) lol. i wish i had kept a large wad of money in the bank and i could limp along trying to develop youth :) oh well :)
i may have no choice. since the change my money is running out so i may have to abandon the team i’ve always played with. :) Might take a break and wait until the game has developed a little more and things have settled.
Thanks for the answers :)
After 16 seasons with Manchester I think it is time for a new challenge, I’ll be leaving the team at the end of this season. I leave with the feeling of mission accomplished, won most of the domestic titles and in my opinion made Manchester one of the more consistent teams playing the CL.
I’m hoping Manchester gets a good manager (and so the reason for this post) as I think it still is the best team in England and one of the best in Europe. Many of the 24-26 players are still improving and have my full confidence in their future so the team can be fighting for every competition at least some 7, 8 seasons without much effort. In any case the 180M back account can provide an easy substitution of the older players :D
I’ll make sure to let you know the turn I’ll leave (it will depend on how well CL goes) so everyone interested in getting the team can apply.
As for me time is to start a new team from nothing (or almost), I’ll start a team in Division 1 (England), some great managers have already started teams there now so I think the time is perfect for competing with them since the very beginning of our teams…
Cheers
lets see how players get sold to cpu teams. thats what i meant :)
The Risk of getting into bankruptcy is virtually none at the moment because I balanced things so we are making around 200k-400k week now, but I manually did things to avoid it so I guess we will not find out what happens.
BK
The other manager wont know you are applying, but he knows how low his performance is so may count with that…
You can revoke your application any time in the Profile menu, if not the application will stand there until you take over the team or if the manager gets his performance higher than 10% (not sure about this one)
Hope you’re not thinking about leaving England now Division 1 is getting so many great managers :D
As much as i enjoy russian roulette virtually ;), it’s not very true to the game.
I need to clarify with a few questions :-
1) will the manager of the team you apply for know you have applied?
2) can i revoke my application if it’s been a few ticks and nothing has happened or will i just take over at 1%, which could possibly be 2 seasons time?
thanks again for the insight. I’m tempted to do this to take over a team i have connections with ;)
Well, let’s see what happens with Berhan K team. It will be interesting for sure. On the Medium tick, i tried to sell a young player for about 400K as opposed to 3Mil and even he isnt going anywhere. I hope it’s not broke. Maybe we start a thread asking what players have gone to CPU in the last half of the season?
Great advice Filipe, thanks.
The whole idea with firing players, even though a bit stupid, is to free up the space, not that I need it but I would eventually need to replace the whole team. I guess I am a bit impatient to make the changes slower and go instead a bit too fast forward.
We’ll, see, it looks possible still. :)
BK
Shawn, those guys were listed when I joined and I am guessing because of the economy, it really sucks when you take over a club and see them bleeding each week and now I am on a mission to avoid bankruptcy but it’s part of the game, and fun too.
Whether it should be like that or not is a question of game features really. I think it would be weird though that players being taken of the transferlist just because a human manager takes over a club. It’s his job to go through who stays and who goes.
BK
Berhan you should try to lower the prices as much as the board let you, I hope CPU teams will still buy old players if they are almost for free. You would have the space on the team and you wouldn’t need to lose money firing the players.
About this new CPU teams we have to wait and see as Gabriel said but for now it seems they went from buying everything to nothing…
Wouldn’t be wise that the “chairman” loans the club say 10M for running costs, not allowing any transfers for that money and then slowly getting it back as you progress?
What about, KNOWING the financial situation of the club before joining (applying for the job)?
Maybe not exactly the amount but whereabouts in an economic scale, like, rich, normal, poor, etc..
BK
I think that was in the early years of Rubysoccer. Gabriel “fixed” this, because of the fact you were able to abuse “selling” players like this. I thought now you would just get fired after coaching lvl is 0 and you still lose money.
