Topic: Board

I think the way the board see the performance of the manager is a little unrealistic… For example, i stayed in fourth place in my league, and had been in second for long time… my league expectations was not to be relegated… I now have 48%. And in the year before i’ve stayed in the first league too, and the performance was 35%…
I think that, in the way that is done, if you go to the second league and in the next year, come up you gain more with that, than with trying to stay in the first league. And not only in the board thing… financially too.

Topic: The Newspaper....

We have some great plans for the newspaper! All you mentioned will be included (interviews, match results, transfers, rumors, etc). Some friends already volunteered to write the texts for the news, we can get it started ;)

Cheers!

Topic: The Newspaper....

I know I read it somewhere before, but I would like to start the discussion again. At the moment it only shows managers in danger. Isn’t it possible for you just do what managersim did. Make the newspaper far greater. Let the newspaper ask you for interviews with a set of questions you can answer that will then be posted in the paper. Also, if a manager is bidding on a player, maybe this could be rumoured in the newspaper? Or if a transfer was finalised, announce it in the paper that team X has got player Y for the amount of etc. And last but not least, maybe show some results like, how did a team do in the UEFA or CL games.

Basicully, create it like it was in managersim, since that was also fun to look at and you could now and then read the thoughts of another manager if he gave an interview. It also was an easy way to create extra competition when it comes to bidding on a player. You might mis out on one, but thanks to the paper you won’t :)

We already have that formula in place Philipp, we may have to adjust it a little bit. What you said about the value being subjective is true, I have lots of friends playing the game so I can observe closely the different opinions about the same player. That’s also part of the fun :)

it should relate to the real importance of the skills for the type of player. if you have a formula for the defenders quality, adapt this to the value calculation.

on the other hand the value is partly subjective and depends on what the manager needs. e.g. in reality a defender with superb tackling and speed but avarage in the others can be very usefull for certain tactic/formation. other coaches prefer an allrounder who’s a good average in all skills.

I don’t think dribbling is useless for defenders and tackling useless for attackers, they can be helpful in some situations. Anyway, I got your point. Main skill already have a higher importance on value calculation, like a defender with 90 tackle and 80 dribbling is worth more than another one with 80 tackle and 90 dribbling. If it’s common sense that it’s not good enough we could increase the difference ;)

Cheers!

Topic: Player Prices

Another problem i see is about player prices.

I think formula that used for prices of players should be tweaked in order to reduce abnormalities in prices -and thus, wages. Most teams are selling their over-priced players because of that. Defenders with high dribbling, forwards with high tackling. These skills are no use for these positions but they’re raising price of player and wage he demands and makes him unwanted.

A drastical decrease in formula should be good.

Only one high-skill should not raise the price. Average skilled defenders shouldn’t worth 10m just because their control is 95.
