Many changes would be welcome, HOWEVER:
You have got to deal with the arbitrary results. It’s the number one game killer in regards to enjoying this game. Because, at the end of the day, all your hard work in building the team and selecting the right tactics comes to the result.
For the second season in a row, I am ousted by the Wolves, in a completely arbitrary fashion.
Last season I won away 2-1 with complete dominance. Then they win at my home 4-3 in another game dominated by Pool. You would think that the away rule affecting players main skills would weaken the opposition skills and yet it seems to strengthen them.
Last season, Wolves went to win the cup in the same fashion against a total dominating United.
Coming back to this season, I draw away 2-2, lose at home 2-3. A 51-28 aggregate on my favor with pretty much better players in every position, especially the strikers.
There is no excuses for these lapses, which, as a matter of fact, are a common phenomena and not a lapses. Much has been said about the quality of shots and how you make the shots, but despite what the justifications are, this is a simple game of numbers vs numbers. Of course, some unpredictability is allowed, but this pushing it too far.
Just to be more specific, I thrashed Wolves away in the league game 6-1, with pretty much the same tactics and players in display from both sides. In all three games nothing much has changed gamewise (tactics, players, shots), but the “ability” of the opposition to add to their scoring with the same amount of work. And, ironically, they triple their efficiency in the hardest game yet, by being away. :D
If on the other hand there’s no problem with game engine, then it must really be the case that most of the managers here are quite dumb, including me, because there’s a lot of managers out there feeling at loss with such outcomes. It’s enough to check out the Match Results Bug section to get a clue. And for every reported case, you can count 10 more unreported. Or even more, as only a handful of managers even attend the forums
What happens on the pitch is the core of the game, the rest is pure decoration. If you get the substance right, then you can start worry about the rest.
PS: One of the main apologies handed out to counter such a phenomena is that “at the end it all balances out.” It does not, and we have seen a lot of cases in the cup competitions where such apology completely loses ground.
It is also important to not that at the end of the day, we all play the game to get some sense of accomplishment, like everything else we do in our lives. If the outcome is decided by arbitration, even if they “balance out,” then, where is the accomplishment in all this?
I think what amacb is saying needs serious addressing here. If players at Tigre keep improving beyond the age of 30, when it has been said without a doubt that growth stops at 30 no matter what, then there’s smth wrong going one way or another.
This whole Tigre story has gone on far too long, the reason being, IMO, that the team plays in South America. If the equivalent of Tigre would have happened in Europe, ppl would have been more aware.
3 players that need to go
Fernando Lourenco M RC Price: 25 mill
Age 24
82~91~78~85~88~83~96
Menon Arruda D LC Price: 30 mill
Age 24
90~83~77~83~83~97~93
Aroldo Albuquerqe D L Price: 20 mill
Age 31
97~82~86~93~97~82~84
As always, negotiations are welcomed. Within reason!
But you get 36 turns to negotiate renewals. That’s 6 days in RL. In addition, if you are to be away that long, there is the option to set the holiday mode and the contracts will be auto-renewed.
of course. Lesieur had a very, very bad day at the office.
You forget that Lesieur is an excellent goalie. Most importantly, you have a 58% possesion and almost 3 times the shots, which basically tells the story of only team dominating the pitch.
And then you have 4 Bordo players averaging 98 shooting who also had a very bad day at the office despite hitting the target 14 out of 17 times. Meanwhile, the Gala strikers score 4 in only 6 hits on the target.
Nah, I think it must be smth in the food Bordo players ate prior to the match.
A cruel joke indeed.
I can’t see one reason to make sense out of this. Suppose Gala had won 1-2, then it could be digested, but winning 4-1 while being completely outplayed is just a bad joke.
Roberto Celada 616 pts A R 26 yo - 86 77 87 *90 92 97 * 87
Listed for only 7 mill. Take him off my hands :)
btw Filipe, your boy Manaia, has already scored 3 goals for Liverpool. I guess it;s the Anfield effect. :)
Shame on you Filipe!!! If you weren’t so greedy, Manchester would be having two stars for each position by now. But you sell your talents as fast as fresh bread. :(
PS: Of course, that doesn;t mean you should refuse my next offer when it comes your way ;-)
4 great midfielders and 1 great defender.
Andrade
Marcelino
Saldivar
Maia
Albuquerqe
Prices are negotiable. Young players in return would be welcome!
cheers
D
no hookers? :)
It’s not like Barca just won 5-0. Basically, there was only one team on the pitch!!!
Fantastic Barcelona!!!!
And in RL, Celtic is the only team to have won an European Cup with all players born within ten miles of their Stadium ;-)
Congrats Jorge!!!
Let’s see how long it will take Academica now to win the CL only with hommies :)
I won’t affect experience pts and growth, but only performance on the pitch.
Lowest prices you can find at Lazio
Bonfante 94 shooting, 605 pts 12 million only
Cogno 87 shooting, 621 pts 6 million only
Castanos 88 shooting, 607 pts, 5 million only
Matera 89 keeping, 523 pts, 6 million only
Barro 82 tackle, 587 pts, 3 million only (still growing)
They need to go.
cheers
D
Young and old, good and great, it’s all there for you.
Take a look, make your pick, put your bid and mail me.
cheers

the prices are irrelevant here, as the managers have raised them so no one would interfere in the trade. Nothing wrong so far
The thing of relevance here is the price difference of 50 mill between the two strikers. Personally, i find it ridiculous, however, it remains a subjective evaluation. If Ricardo thinks Karger is worth 50 mill more than Hoffman, then it’s really up to him.
Of course, this exchange could easily be nothing more than a transfer of 50 mill between friends (cheating), but that is impossible to prove unfortunately.
Mine is quarterfinal, but teams improve during the season, or some do at least, hence board evaluation is not that important.
I see it hard for the an all-French final. First of all because their league is too strong, which could cause stamina issues. Either way, only Auxerre (If Charles stays sober :D ) and Bordo are capable to amount a challenge to the end. But so are Hertha and Valladolid, my two favorites to win it.
Liverpool is more of an outsider, and Gijon could very well be in it too, despite losing some important pieces last season (but they have some nice youth comming up).
In addition, Maritimo and Guiamares need to shake things a bit as they do have lots of potential.
So there it is, my 8 quarterfinalists
Matera GK
Castanos DA
Pereira MD
Cogno A
Bonfante A
Take a look, very reasonable prices, below their current evaluation, still negotiable.
Let me know
Oh my Charles, you really need to slow down on that bottle mate ;-))))
After a month of absence we are back
First thing First:
The latest news in our planet is also the oldest. Hertha Berlin is back ladies and gentleman is back to win it’s 12th CL trophy. After their 2nd place last season, we did expect the Germans to go a step further this season and so they did.
CONGRATULATIONS PHILLIPP
With Superman Palacio between the posts and Lagos directing the midfield, Hertha has returned to claim the throne of Europe with great ball possession, slick passing and cynical finishes. We can assume this is just the start of another decade of Berlin dominance, and that makes the CL even more interesting
The Rising of New and Old.
It seems that more teams will be able to fight it out for the Champions League in the future seasons. The old guard of Valladolid, Gijon, and Liverpool, all made it to the final stages. Liverpool eliminated Gijon, and Hertha Berlin eliminated both Valladolid and Liverpool.
Auxerre, another “new entry” made it to the final this season after a semifinal appearance last year. With a young solid team, we can expect the French to fight for the trophy on and on.
The best League
It’s the French one!!!
Marseille won Ligue 1
Auxerre is CL runner-up
Bordo won the Europa League
Grenoble was EL runner-up
All four will play CL next season.
In addition, there are Rennes, Dijon, and Valenciennes (very young and promising team) who make the French championship a living hell for everyone.
Great thing are to be seen from the French.
Liverpool
Happy 10th anniversary of the Liverpool Revival. Since the manager joined the relegated Reds 10 seasons ago and their return to top flight 6 seasons ago, Liverpool have become a European Powerhouse again with 11 new titles to their cabinet.
The Red storm has won 5 EPL titles and 4 FA Cups.
It also won back to back CL titles, and counts for two more semifinal appearances.
The revival of this team has collected a total turnover of 1.222 billion pounds during the decade, with a total net spending of just 4 million :)
Future is bright.
Waiting for Manchester United and Brest
Felipe is doing a great job with MU, they missed a Europa League spot by only 4 points, and that is still an amazing achievement.
Sly is also back, and his Brest is collecting great promissing youths from all over the world. They should fight for promotion this comming season, and challenge head on the one after this one, simply because their talent humongous.
Congratulations are in order:
For Shawn Larsson. For those who don’t know him, Shawn is the manager of Cobresal in Chile, currently ranked the 4th manager in the world. Shawn is fighting it out everyday with the powerhouses of Brazil and Argentina in the Copa Libertadores.
Last season, Cobresal were the Runners-up in the competition, falling 2-1 to Tigre in Final.
It shows that with determination and skill, any team could achieve a lot.
CONGRATULATIONS SHAWN!!!
May other managers take your example to play this beautiful games as they should.
Cheers and see y’all next season!!!
Holy cow I shouldn’t write under intoxication :D
I saw the score right after a Halloween party and this was a perfect Halloween Final.
On a more thorough analysis, I will take away the “Auxerre should have won this game blindfolded.” From what I have come to understand (say my conspiracy theory) in RS the strength of a tactic is not based on all ten outfielders, meaning that a red card to player whose’ impact on the tactic is low, actually won’t affect the balance of that team despite being a man down.
But the facts here speak for themselves
The first red card affects Hertha greatly:
-they allow a goal
-and they get a second card
Conclusion: Hertha is in disarray. And normally what we can expect.
But hey, here comes the coup de grace, minute 31 of the game: Hertha scores with 2 man down, and with it’s best striker being out. Hertha has a 4-3-1 formation on the pitch now, hardly anything offensive. “It’s this event that shouldn’t have happened”
But it happened, hence we can justify (as Felipe points out) the following red card from Auxerre and everything else that followed.
Just for the sake of the argument, Auxerre’s injuries shouldn’t be considered much as both replacements were also very good and up to the job.
PS: Anyway, Phillipp, it’s time you beat Tigre, the whole of Europe is behind you and Palacio ;-)
It is joke, seriously!!!
Score 2-0 for Hertha
Hertha gets a red card
score goes 2-1 for Hertha
Hertha gets a second red
Score 3-1 for Hertha
Auxerre gets a red card card
4-1 for Hertha
Hertha substitutes his goalie with a 70 skilled keeper
end result 7-1 for Hertha
IT’S A COMPLETE JOKE!!!!
You guys have to take care of this immediately.
-With 2 players less on the field the team manages to score. It’s Sci-Fi
-With 2 men advantage, the team gets a red card. It’s SCI-FI
-And Hertha manages to score 3 more goals despite being one man down. Ridiculous!!! It shouldn’t matter that Auxerre put a 70 keeping goalie after the 55, minute. Auxerre should have won this game blindfolded.
I’m sorry, but the CL final has simply taken all the responsibility out of this game.
Such a joke!!!
Filipe is right, a youth in academy simply improves 2x faster than out of academy (again Gabriel needs to confirm this), but the overall growth pts is set from his ‘birth’ so in the long run it doesn’t impact the player’s growth.
Players like those at Tigre or Palacio % Craggs are all extremes, rarities in the above 140 average pts growth benchmark. Ironically, Palacio is released from Tigre’s academy :D
One more thing.
Since season 31, Tigre has made only 19 buys between FT and FA. Of those 12 have become some sort of superstar (including LAgos and Costa). One is 26 and might still grow, so the jury is still on him at this point. And 6 have been resold without much success of growth (not including Lagos and Costa).
Now, that’s a 67% success in picking not the guy who makes it, but the guy who shakes it.
That is truly amazing. Kudos to him
27k over 80k is indeed extreme.
Sometimes though you could overcome an one year 80k bid with a 3 year 30k bid :)
Here are some of my winning bids in the last 3 season
1 × 60k
2 × 50k
6 × 30k (some of which on multiple years contract, 2 or 3)
PS: one other trick the i believe works (Gabriel can confirm this if true), I do have plenty of MA’s and one MD. So if i want to buy a mid, i switch all the above to A’s or D’s o have as less mids in line up as possible. And I have actually been buying lots of young mids in the last 3 seasons: 8 of them to be exact
it’s also striking IMO that four of those players actually come from England, considering that England, at least since the “birth” of these players has not been ranked higher than 6th or 7th
I had the same problem as you Philip when the rule was first implemented. I basically lost in any biding out there for a youth even though my offers were considerably higher. So i decided to raise the stakes even higher (raise the salary offer) and it has been quite satisfactory in achieving the players i wanted.
It does create a bit of a financial burden, but in the long run it does justify itself to pay high wages (relatively high) for young talents.
The way i see it, as long as it’s financially viable, a big club should pay more both to get the best grown player and to secure its financial future by securing the best future talents.
Still only recently i lost a bid to a young D even though my bid was 13k/year higher, but in a way i expected it to happen and completely share the rule here, because I already had 9 Defenders in my team, all better.
Costa and Lago were also Tigre players sold to Bordeaux and Hertha. SO it is 10 players coming from that team.
A loaned player has to start the game in order for it to count
i assume players get rated mainly based on their primary duty. In this case, he is a defender who only made 3 tackles out of 19 attempts, including ten fouls. Despite the scoring, he had a pretty shitty display.
Then again, a 0 rating is absurd.
