Topic: [admin_only] Improvements A prototype for the mobile version of the formations screen has been deployed. You can now tap an empty field position, and that will present you with a small wheel with four options – representing the possible playing positions of the player you would like to add to that field position. Upon selecting a playing position from the wheel, a dialog will pop-up listing the players you have available for the selected position. The player you select on that dialog will be added to the field position which originated the event. A player can also be removed from the field by tapping it and answering “OK” to the challenge question that will pop-up. Please let us know if you find any bugs or have any suggestions. This is a prototype! |

Topic: [admin_only] Improvements The new Newspaper is ready to go! I’ll start allowing managers to write news articles based on the responses to the poll we’ve done some time ago. Once this is done I hope we can start getting a few articles published pretty soon. As a reader the new screen has two main filters: language and country. They come pre-populated based on the language you use to access the game and country you play in. When looking at a specific country’s newspaper you’ll see all the news published that are relevant to that country, to that country’s continent and globally. The old template-based newspaper has been hidden for now and will be re-activated in the future in addition to this one. We have some work to do on that one so that automatically generated news are interesting enough for readers. For now, enjoy our Newspaper and, as always, share your feedback in the forums, Facebook or via in-game messages. |

I decided to leave renewals out of this to give the CPU a chance to re-evaluate the market using the existing logic instead of having to re-evaluate just for the renewal’s sake. |

Topic: [admin_only] Improvements We have two additional possibilities when configuring formation strategies: not ahead by and not behind by. Similar to the ahead by and behind by options, these strategies are executed only if you are not ahead or not behind by at least a given number. This can be useful in the second leg of cup matches where you know you need to win by at least a given number of goals or cannot lose by more than a given number of goals. Usage example: replace a midfielder with an attacker if you are not ahead by 2 (maybe because you know you need to win by at least 2 goals). Notice that in this example the substitution is going to happen if you are ahead in the score by 2 or more goals. You can still use not ahead and not behind without entering a number of goals. In this case the rules are applied as usual, not ahead applies if you’re tied or losing and not behind applies if you’re tied or winning. |

In addition to that you can now see the coach prediction for your players’ main skill in the player info screen by just clicking in the main skill value, assuming you have a successful Evolution Stage report result for the player. |

Topic: [admin_only] Improvements Player traits have just been added to the game as a “future feature”, similar to what we did with pressure handling. What that means is that existing players won’t develop any traits, but all players generated from now on will develop two traits during their career, one positive and one negative. Traits can be developed randomly at the same time the player skills increase and the manager receives a message about it. We’ve also shuffled things around a bit in the player info screen to accomodate traits in a separate panel along with pressure handling. Star status has been moved from the contract info panel to the general info panel and is only displayed for star players. We’ll add a new tab to the team players screens to display traits and pressure handling of all your players as a list. |

Topic: [admin_only] Improvements Investments updated in FastTicker and the old-style transfer budget is now in place. This means the amount of money you can spend on player transfers only depends on your total money balance and the amount of money you spend on wages. The idea is that you can never go below a certain threshold, and this threshold varies based on your wage expenses (if you spend more on wages you have less to spend on transfers and vice-versa). The “fired for inactivity” period has been increased from 7 to 14 days. We’ve got feedback from users that have a busy life, sometimes miss the 7 days deadline and end up being fired and losing all their work. If this proves to be too much we can reduce it back in the future, but we believe it fits well currently. Cheers |

Topic: [admin_only] Improvements In the player info screen you now have a tab for Awards. For now the only award possible is “Team of the Round”. Awards are sorted by season in descending order and when a player received multiple awards of a particular award you will see a multiplier in front of the award name, e.g. “2 x Team of the Round – Premiership”. Sorting has been changed in the player list screen so that it now sorts in descending order on first click for player skills. The remaining columns will still sort ascending first. |

In the league screen there is now a tab for the Team of the Round, which is a selection of the players with the best performance in the last league round. Topic: [admin_only] Improvements The titles screen for managers and teams now contain flags indicating the country each particular competition belongs to or no flag when it is an international competition. This is a small but nice addition that had no reason not to be there since the beginning! Have you checked our game manual lately? We’ve been slowly adding content to that in order to make it easier for new players to learn the game. Experienced players might find something useful there as well, who knows? The manual can be found under the “?” menu on the top right (if you’re not using mobile) or at the bottom of your sandwich menu (if you’re using mobile). Cheers |

Topic: [admin_only] Improvements The transfer budget change from investment points to money/expenses based will happen almost fully automatically on transition from turn 12 to 13 next season in both dimensions. I’ll only have to do a manual server restart each time and that’s it. For now the only apparent change is the Investments screen missing the two areas to be removed and the transfer budget value displayed on your team’s main screen, it is now showing the budget minus any open offers you have. Topic: [admin_only] Improvements We should not have teams from the same country drawn into the same international cup group anymore, unless of course the number of teams from a country exceeds the number of groups (which never happens in the current settings). In order to do this we had to compromise on the strength split logic, meaning we may have a particular groups composed with relatively stronger teams than others. Let’s see how it plays out the next time the groups are created. Cheers |

Hopefully the new numbers are more realistic and result in a higher number of “average” ratings instead of too many highs and lows. Just to reiterate, the match simulation and corresponding player performance has not changed at all, just the final calculation of ratings. |

Topic: [admin_only] Improvements New match rating calculation for defenders are in! I have a feeling they are a bit in the low side, but at least they are relatively easy to adjust if needed. The most important factors in the new calculation are tackle efficiency and minimum tackle attempts based on what happened during the match. We also adjust the rating accordingly if the player wasn’t in the field for the whole 90 minutes and give the usual bonus and penalties for fouls, cards, assists and goals. |

Topic: [admin_only] Improvements The Evolution Stage coach report has been improved to give an estimate of the player’s main skill when he’s fully developed. This estimate will be in the form of a range and will become more accurate as the player gets closer to his full potential. After generating a successful Evolution Stage report you need to wait 36 turns before requesting a new one for the same player. All existing reports of this type have been marked as a failure so managers can immediately request them to get the new version of the result, if desired. |

It has literally been written in a few hours just to replace the java applet, which was not working. The next step is to make it nicer and responsive (so it works on mobile phones). edit: just added a slider to the screen. I think it will make it easier for you guys to use it. |

Similarly, they also help reduce the impact of transfer proposals your players receive.
