When i get a mail with a link to a player then the link sends me to the login screen.

you need to open rubysoccer page with WWW.rubysoccer.com, if you dont use the www for some reason those links wont work (as they have the www)

If i remember the reason correctly, its because of the cookies related to your session as an user. i might do something about that problem in future, but its a very low priority at the moment.
