What are the chances manager joining and turn 102 and selling a star player at turn 107, someone who would go for 2-300M going for around 130M?

I am not sour for missing to buy the player nor for the player going for a wage of 150k/week.

That’s kind of thing that bothers me, someone joining and selling one of the best players for 1/3rd of the market value. I know because I sold such a player for 300M.

SO the question is; will the new functionality allow managers to join to clubs and sell the best players just like that?

No offense to the managers involved, I am not saying they cheated but it certainly doesn’t look good.

I’m sure new rules and salary caps set by the board will make sure new managers don’t destroy their teams, and that salaries won’t be this high.

But…for the time being…I’m gonna enjoy my new toy and hope he improves some ;-)

i agree with BK. I thought there were mechanisms in place to prevent this kind of stuff from happening.
guy gets hired on turn 102 and sells such a high caliber player 6 turns later…

The new system’s wage limit would potentially prevent the high wage, but not the transaction itself. There are mechanisms in place preventing new managers to spend a all of the team’s money (which will become obsolete with the new model), but nothing as far as I remember prevents them from selling good players, except the top ones in the board’s eyes.

Regarding top players not being allowed to be sold by the board. I remember there was a similar feature before, and it did cause some problems. Is there a chance that both the board and the manager select the “untouchables”? Such as, the board provides the manager with a list of say ten players, and the manager has the final say by selecting a number of untouchable from the list

:)

What is the point of a manager making a player untouchable?

The point is that the board may select some players as untouchables based on criteria that might not exactly be helpful to the manager. For example, we can agree that the value of a player does not necessarily reflect his skill on the pitch, according to a manager’s evaluation. This is usually the case with players with high secondaries but low main attributes, such as a keeper who would have only 85 in keeping, but 95’s in his secondaries. His price would be much higher than one of the same age, with 95 in keeping and 85’s in secondaries, even though the latter would be better across the skill board by 2 pts. And of course the manager would be much better off selling the 85 keeper and keeping the 95 keeper, but the board might select the 85 keeper as untouchable, which takes a chance off from the manager to generate some money and improve his team.
In other words, while we introduce features to prevent managers, especially new ones or cheaters, to destroy the team, we should also make sure that the same features don’t prevent good managers from improving their teams.

I agree that the mechanic can be annoying for (good) managers, but the only benefit of a manager making a player untouchable, is that he won’t click ‘transfer list player’ by accident, right?

And the situation of Sevilla… 3 top players fired… in 10 turns… its posible doing this…. the board must not allow this… I think…

I get a free midfielder from Sevilla and pay 200k a week. I will explain why it is not retarder:

200k * 50 (nb of week by year) = 10M… So he cost me 100M for 10 years. What is his cost on the market? At least 200M and there is no such player on the market… I will negociate his wage every year so… not so retarded

cheers Davison

I do not want to sell him.

Show me a player better than him for 100M on the market and I will admit you are right

I do hope that with the new economy system wages (and keeping them low) becomes more important.

dimitri, i assume the new system will put further restrictions on high wages, and thus, the player will go to the team best suited for him i imagine… i guess only time will tell.

Im only taking advantage of the current situation like everyone else. I could of offered more money for him but that was the highest i would go.

As Gastou pointed out, a striker like that, at 27 would sell for £150mil? So paying him 180,000 a week is a bargain for my club.

EDIT**

Sevilla have now fired a player in the same turn they bought him.. Hes not even that good. Can someone figure out whats going on?

I played him in friendlies to develop his stats. Position doesn’t matter. And he developed nicely (though he’s not worth 172578876 as Sevilla paid for him).

ya i play my keepers in the midfield as well if i got no one else… sometimes your academy spits out 2-3 goalies back to back so u have no choice…

I dont understand how a new GM has the ability to buy 120mil $$$ players and then fire them right away… I really thought there were restrictions on these (especially selling a player)
I thought a GM had to build a reputation with the board and over time can do some of these things…

Not to mention he reduced coaching, physio and scouting to 0 but yet he spent 120mil on buying a player…

Admins seriously need to have a look at this…
