Go to Manager settings and set to show results

what does the setting:
“Schedule friendlies on season start?”

It means that at the start of the season 48 friendlies are scheduled for your team (one per week). So if you want to play friendlies with your team (to gain experience points for young players), it’s a good idea to turn that on.
