Hello,

I’m new to the game and I was wondering how the performance of a player is affected if I play him out of his position.

I mean: is it better to have a poor MC (with passing skills bellow average) playing his natural position or would beneffit the team more to use a ML or MR in his place (with much better passing skills)?

Cheers

Hi Rodrigo. First of all you should know that L players (including LC and LR) can play on any left position (L and LC), while C players (C, LC, RC) can play in the 3 central positions (LC, C and RC) and R players (R, RC and LR) play ok in R and RC positions. That said, a player out of position will receive a penalty in all his attributes (keeping, tackle, passing, shooting, control, dribble and speed) during the match. The penalty value depends on how far from his right position he is. For example, a L player playing in the C position will receive a -1 penalty; in the RC position, -2 and in the R position, -3. For central players or multi-sided players, playing out of their positions cost -3, so a C player in the L or R position and a LR player in the C position will both receive a -3 penalty.

A little bit confusing when you put it in words, but I hope it was clear enough :-)

Cheers!

so a RC only gets penalty when playing on position “L” and a LC when playing on “R”, right? How many points?

Exactly, Philipp. They lose 3 points on all skills.

So if I play a LC player in C will he lose points? does he have to play exactly LC?

And what points do you mean? His match rating points?

1. no, LC loses zero points in C (aswell in L, LC, RC) just in R (he gets “-3”)
2. points that will reduced from each skill (shoo, pass, tack, etc.); e.g. players skills “88-57-70” will be in a match “85-54-67” with a 3 point penalty

No penalty if I play midfielder in defense or attack on the same side (e.g. MLC as DLC or ALC) ?

What do you mean ?

If I play an MC with 85 tac as DC, he has only 82 tac ?

I thought the penalty is -5 in stead of -3.
So your MC ith 85 tac would have 80 tac. I’m not sure if it is for all skills?
